Hi everyone! I've finally managed to get my website up and running and done some of the layout so far, but it's still not perfect yet so bear with me!

Anyway, since this is my first post here, I thought I'd just share with you guys about what I've been up to lately and what I'm currently raving about.

1) FASHION SEASON FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2013!!!

So NYFW, LFW, MFW are over, and now it's PFW (for those not in the know, that's Paris Fashion Week for you) that's happening at the moment. I've been so obsessed with watching almost every show for the S/S'13 collections (livestream if possible) and scrolling through each and every one of the actual show pictures on Vogue and Style.com and Nowfashion, as well as checking out every picture from the excessive fashion twitter accounts I follow. Fashion season is da bomb. 

I love fashion. I love how so much effort is put into creating an haute couture piece, how much creativity it all takes to draft a look and then see it transform from being an intangible idea to becoming a tangible piece of clothing worn on the runway, on the red carpet, on people who can afford it...

2) GLITTER/CONFETTI/IRIDESCENT NAIL POLISH

Okay so my obsession with fashion AND cool glitter nail polish is no secret to the people who know me, and I have been spending quite a bit on nail polish recently. Here are some pics of what I've bought in the past two weeks:

I'm a sucker for anything rainbowy and iridescent and unique, as well as things that can't be commonly found and that most people don't have. So when I chanced upon these awesome indie nail polish brands, I OBVIOUSLY HAD TO BUY THOSE POLISHES. Aren't they just lovely?! 

I'm actually quite selfish and when I discover an awesome indie brand I hate sharing it with people unless they're my good friends, because I don't like my favourite indie brands becoming mainstream. I mean, if they're that awesome, people are bound to find out about them sooner or later, but I'd still try to prevent that from happening by not telling people where I got my awesome stuff from. Also I hate copycats - I mean who doesn't? Even though people say imitation is the highest form of flattery blahblah... It may be childish but I still don't like people having/buying the same things as me when I'd discovered them and bought them first. (Well, at least before anyone else I knew even KNEW about its existence until I mentioned it.)

(And because I always feel so intensely protective over my "original" ideas, after I took the first pic I was thinking "OMG I just took a pic with the BRAND NAME on it and now people are gonna copy me and buy the same thing too" which is a little bit extreme I know. But well, good for all of you out there who've seen it cause now you know where to get the same awesome nail polish!)

But I thought about it and also reasoned that if I loved those brands so much I should write rave reviews about them and tell everyone about them so that they'd have more customers and business and support. It doesn't have to be me who does that though, right?! There'd definitely be someone else raving about them and spreading the word and contributing to mainstream-ness ): Although I must say, I DO share my favourite indie brands sometimes. Ah, conflicting thoughts that might never resolve themselves. Perhaps in time I'll be less selfish and share more. Maybe even here on my new blog!

Anyway, I guess that's all I've been up to this past week that's really related to what I want to blog about here - trawling the interwebz for updates on the S/S'13 fashion season and discovering new indie nail polish brands. Will blog about more stuff soon!
